DESCRIPTION;LANGUAGE=en:Norway\n\n\n\nHenriette Eilertsen - flute \n\nJoel
 Ring - cello \n\nØystein Aarnes Vik – drums\n\n\n\nWith well over 50 milli
on streams\, the flute-centric project of an American rapper proved to be
the most delightful surprise in the realm of instrumental music just over
three years ago —bridging the gap between jazz and meditative mysticism. H
ad justice prevailed\, that success would have rightfully belonged to Henr
iette Eilertsen. The Norwegian flutist—born in 1993\, yet notably the firs
t person in her home country to earn a jazz degree on her instrument—had a
lready released “Poems for Flute” in 2021\, and later that same year recor
ded “Om talmodighet” with OJKOS (Orchestra for Jazz Composers in Oslo)\, a
n ensemble she co-founded. Her trio’s debut album\, “Moder” —featuring Swe
dish-Norwegian cellist Joel Ring and drummer Øystein Aarnes Vik—was recent
ly released\; it is a record that teaches the modern age a thing or two ab
out the flute\, ranging from gentle Lateef-ian touches (Yusef\, of course)
to tempestuous grooves driven by overblown tones. “One can easily imagine
that 'Moder' would have been a hit a thousand years ago\, and that advent
urous music lovers will experience it as a musical pot of gold a thousand
years from now”\, as a text accompanying the album aptly observes.
